Khanderi and Underi forts are situated on two islands near Thal village, 8 Kms north to Alibaug and 20 Kms off the coast of Mumbai. Both the forts still stand proud in the Arabian Sea with their intact fortified walls.
Shri Kanakeshwar Mandir
13 Kms from Alibaug in Northeast direction is this very famous Shiv temple on a 900 ft. high hill. Its' a 5000 ft. long climb on well paved stairs, which takes around one hour landmarks along the route are tombs of MohanGiri and Balgiri, Nagoba Rest, Jambhali Plateau, God's stair, Gaymandi etc. The fatigue of the uphill climb vanishes the moment one enters the scenic temple premises. It comprises various small temples of Sri Paleshwar, Sri Hanuman, Sri Balram Krishna and Lord Shiv. The special attraction is an ancient sweet water tank enclosed in traditional structure of red stone.

Vikram Vinayak Mandir is situated inside the Vikram Ispat premises, which is at a distance of around 20 km from Alibaug. This temple is situated across the Revdanda Bridge and is surrounded by beautiful garden and fountains. Located on a small hillock, the temple can be reached by climbing the well paved stairs. Kashid is a beach town on the shores of the Arabian Sea, in the North Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is located 30 km from Alibaug on the Alibaug-Murud road. Kashid is popular mainly because of its silver sand, blue seas, green mountains, paddy fields, and rivulets. The history of Kolaba Fort is for over 300 years. It is located at a distance of 1 km from Alibaug beach. The fort can only be accessed during ebb tide through a narrow strip of land which goes underwater during high tide. The Great Maratha-warrior Shivaji started the construction of this sea fort in 1680 A.D. The fort is 900 ft. long, 350 ft. wide and has 25 ft. high walls. Near to the gate are the shrines of Mahishasura and Padmavathi. The inner sanctum sanctorum includes images of Sri Ashtabhuja Devi, Shiv, Vishnu, Surya.
